Day 251 of a year of kindness - Today I joined a group dedicated to fighting for human rights, dignity and kindness. I went to their meeting at the local library and met people who refuse to watch other people suffer without doing something about it.In cities and towns across the country, rainbow crosswalks and black history murals are being painted over as new transportation regulations are enforced.
Last week, in Westerly, Rhode Island, sidewalk chalk art depicting rainbows and love was considered a criminal offense. I cannot look away.Afterwards, I spoke seriously with a friend about freedoms. Stepping up and speaking up is kind.
Science of Kindness:. Research confirms that standing up for human rights demonstrates a commitment to fairness and justice. It reveals that if you value the rights and dignity of others and are willing to take action to protect them, it creates a more just, equitable and kinder community. #Bekind #kindnessisfree #kindnessmatters #bekind #southcountyresistance
