Day 266 of a year of kindness
I returned my knee scooter and shower chair (thank goodness). I had borrowed them from Terry, a member of the local Lions Club, which provides free temporary medical equipment. It was such a blessing not to have to buy this equipment, which I only needed for a couple of months. So, I thanked Terry profusely and gave a donation to the Lions Club. I also donated prescription glasses. Besides providing free medical equipment, they also donate glasses to help those who cannot afford vision care.
I told Terry that the return of this equipment officially ended my summer of suffering. He was happy to help and said, “I think this season should be your autumn of glory.”
I appreciated his enthusiasm and I will face the fall with a much better attitude.I do know one sure thing about life - the suffering happens and the suffering eventually ends. It's hard to remember it in the moment but as always, this too shall pass.
Science of Kindness: Research reveals that giving back to organizations that have helped you ensures that their efforts continue to benefit others and contribute to the well-being of the community. It also makes the giver and the receiver happy. #bekind #kindness #LionsClubsInternational
