Day 298 of a year of kindness

I stood outside in the cold, early morning hours and cheered for friends and family running a 5K and half marathon this morning. It was a convenient kindness because they ran right past my house. While I waited for them, I cheered for other people as well. I got a lot of smiles and one woman proudly waved her “Mom’s First 5K” sign as she passed. Everyone needs a cheerleader and it was a great way to start the day.

Science of Kindness: Research reveals that cheering for others increases well-being for both parties. It fosters a sense of inclusion and support especially in high-effort environments like sports. #BeKind #KindnessCounts #KindnessCounts2025 #kindness #oceanstaterhoderace
