Day 287 of a year of kindness
I stepped away from my computer and had a long lunch. Autumn is in full bloom right now in Rhode Island, and I haven’t really taken the time to appreciate it. So, I joined my cousin Catherine for a lunchtime adventure. We drove past the regular haunts and found a bookstore with a cafe we’d never visited. We took the back roads, passing farms and trees bursting with color. I would have missed it all. It felt good to step away from work for a couple of hours  - and step into autumn.

Science of Kindness: Research shows that stepping out of your routine, enjoying nature and connecting socially is kind in every way - emotionally, neurologically, and spiritually. It also improves focus and creativity as nature exposure restores attention and enhances problem-solving skills, especially after long periods of screen time. hashtag
