Day 332 of a year of kindness
Today was Small Business Saturday and I wanted to be intentional about how I supported local businesses today.I went to a local farm with my mother and daughter and bought a Christmas tree. Later, my mother and I went to a local family-run Thai restaurant. On the way, we were delighted to see a horse and buggy on the road with lots of happy passengers.
Choosing to support small businesses is an act of kindness. Small businesses give towns some of their personality - like horse and buggy rides - and sense of place. When we make conscious choices to support them, we’re also investing in local economies and helping our neighbors thrive.
Science of Kindness: Research reveals that supporting small businesses is a kindness practice because it creates a cycle of kindness: your decision to shop small uplifts them, and their contributions uplift the wider community. #BeKind #KindnessCounts #KindnessCounts2025 #kindnessmatters #SupportSmallBusiness
