Day 318 of a year of kindness

My friend Arlene won a few dollars in the lottery today (unfortunately not the billion she had anticipated). She gave me $10 for a $10 kindness challenge. After clothes shopping, we went to Norman Love Confections for some chocolates. I recognized a woman standing in front of the gelato section that I saw at a clothing shop we had just visited. We started talking and she told me her name was Donna. She wanted some gelato. So, I asked her if I could buy it for her as today’s kindness.

She immediately agreed.

“Well, I was going to get a small one but now I’m going to get a medium,” she said enthusiastically.

The very sweet server, Brandon, scooped up some stracciatella gelato and put a little chocolate turtle on top, which made her extra happy. I paid for the ice cream and dropped the rest in the tip jar. It’s almost impossible not to be happy at Norman Love’s, but today it was extra fun.

Science of Kindness: Science and my own research reveals that buying someone an ice cream or a gelato makes them happy every single time. #BeKind #KindnessCounts #KindnessCounts2025 #normanlove #gelato
