Day 145 of a year of Kindness

I surprised my daughter and friends with some rocks, paintbrushes and paint. It’s not the most obvious Memorial Day weekend activity but everyone jumped in.I  recently posted about The Kindness Rocks Project, where people have painted rocks with inspiring messages for others to find. That inspired me to collect some rocks and buy some paint. It turned into an official sip and rock painting party where anyone could paint anything they wanted. It was a fun way to do something together, swirl some paint around, add a little glitter, tell funny stories and spend a few hours outside laughing. It’s kind to create space to do something silly and fun.

Science of kindness: Research shows that art has the power to uplift the human spirit, spark joy and contribute to overall well-being. It doesn’t matter what the art is - painting, sculpting, cooking, knitting, writing - engaging in art can significantly enhance happiness. Finding time to slow down and get creative is kind because it allows your mind to become fully immersed in an activity, and temporarily relieves you of your troubles. Getting creative can provide moments of peace, joy, and connection. #kindnessiscontagious #kindnessisfree #kindness #bekind #getcreative #artmatters
