Day 121 of a year of Kindness
I told my 94-year-old Aunt Maha that we needed to go out and do something kind today. She protested because I had already fixed her blinds, got something from the front door and picked up her prescriptions.“That’s kind enough,” she said. She told me a story about the Kroger grocery store where I picked up her prescription. A few years ago, she had shingles and felt miserable. But she was determined to drive to Kroger and get her prescription. When she got there, she didn’t feel well enough to go in. So, she pulled her car up beside the Kroger and waved down a stranger. She asked this man if he would go inside the store and fetch the pharmacist. Shortly afterwards, the pharmacist emerged and made sure she got everything she needed. When I was picking up her prescriptions today, I asked the pharmacist if he was the hero in this story. He said no, but he has done that before for other customers. I am grateful for the kind, big-hearted pharmacists at the Kroger in Savannah, Ga.
Science of kindness: Research shows that excellent customer service enhances brand reputation and drives business success. Going above and beyond cements brand loyalty in a way nothing else can. My Aunt Maha will always and forever shop at Krogers - inside or outside of the store.#kindness #kindnessiscontagious @10kindnessclub #kindnessisfree #kroger
