Day 178 of a year of Kindness

I saw a sign for a lemonade stand and I turned down the road and stopped in front of it. Three adorable girls were selling lemonade at the end of their driveway. I gave them $1 for my lemonade and gave them another $1 to pay it forward. Their Mom - who was also there - talked about the ripple effects of kindness. As we were talking, I noticed that one of the girls had a cast on her leg. It had been a miserable couple of months for her but the cast was coming off next week. Later that day, I realized that she was literally making lemonade out of lemons! Despite being in a cast on a hot summer day, she was selling lemonade and smiling at strangers.

Science of kindness: Research shows that showing up for little kids who sell lemonade is kind. I lived in Florida when a six-year-old girl was banned from selling lemonade because she didn’t have a temporary business permit. (That is unkind). As a result, I always try to stop at lemonade stands. #bekind #kindnessiscontagious #kindnessisfree #kindness #lemonadestand
