Day 181 of a year of Kindness
I dropped off food at a local church that had asked for support. The church hosts a weekly community market, which has been affected by significant cutbacks in federally supplied food. They are also seeing an increase in need.Sometimes I feel like I don’t have enough food that would warrant a donation or don’t know what food would be best. I realized that even one jar of spaghetti sauce would help someone.
So, I pulled together a bag of what I did have. I found a new toothbrush, new soap and some of the food items they had requested. I’m sure there is a need like this all across the country right now.
Science of kindness: Research shows that donating food to those in need is one of the most direct and meaningful ways to give. Donating food also creates a ripple effect in communities. When individuals see acts of generosity, it inspires others to act kindly as well, creating a cycle of giving that spreads far beyond the initial gift. #bekind #kindnessiscontagious #kindnessisfree #kindness #donatefood
