Day 177 of a year of Kindness
My mother has had a working lobster trap on her property for months. It’s not her lobster trap. It may have washed up from the ocean and a family member may have claimed it as their own. I have no idea. It had been abandoned and deserved to go back to the sea.
I put this metal trap into my car and drove it to Galilee, Rhode Island. Galilee is a working New England fishing village not far from my home. I walked into the Ferry Wharf Fish Market and asked who might want a working lobster trap. A nice woman told me to put it on the dock and “one of the boys” would pick it up. I hope it helps someone who makes a living off of the sea.
Science of kindness: Research shows that returning something that doesn’t belong to you is kind. #bekind #kindnessiscontagious #kindnessisfree #kindness #lobsterinrhodeisland
