Day 176 of a year of Kindness

It is hot in Rhode Island. I got in my car and it said 97 degrees. I drove to the gas station and was thinking about how hot it was as I was filling up my tank. I noticed a Buy 2 Get 1 Free Gatorade poster. So, I thought I would get three Gatorades and give them to someone who was hot.

As I walked out of the gas station convenience store, I saw a man get into his landscape truck after filling up. I walked straight over to the passenger window and asked the two men in the front seat if they would like a cold Gatorade. They didn’t blink. It was smiles all around.

The effort took me a total of 5 minutes and cost just a few dollars. I waved goodbye as they were taking big gulps of Gatorade.

Science of kindness: Research shows that if it’s hot and you are thirsty than someone else is probably hot and thirsty too. It’s kind to take that extra step to see someone, appreciate them and help them out. Landscapers work so hard in the hot sun. #bekind #kindnessiscontagious #kindnessisfree #kindness #hotsummerdays
