Day 167 of a year of Kindness

I gave a former colleague an excellent reference today. It made me think a lot about the kindness factor in the office and what a difference it can make. This person (who will remain anonymous because she is job hunting) is smart, motivated, talented - she is all the things you want in an employee. But what made her stand out was her kindness. She cared. She greeted people with a smile. She had a warmth that drew people to her. She made your day better by being in it. I’ve been in work cultures where the toxic person set the tone, and it was miserable. So, I sang her praises today and was reminded of how much you can achieve if you surround yourself with the right people.
