Day 197 of a year of Kindness

As I sat at my computer tonight wondering what kindness I should report, I saw kindness in action! My cousin, Karen, and her soon-to-be son-in-law, Henry, came through my door with a quart of my favorite chocolate chip ice cream from my favorite ice cream place.

But even more astounding, they found my cousin Catherine’s credit card in a busy beach parking lot. They gave her credit card to me because Catherine is taking me to surgery tomorrow.

It’s like kindness and karma all rolled into one! Catherine is doing a good deed for me and is the recipient of a good deed. I just love it when it works out that way. Plus, I love ice cream.

Science of kindness: Researchers haven’t really nailed down the science of karma. However, there are benefits of practicing kindness, compassion, and other "good karma" behaviors. Research shows that altruistic acts—whether motivated by spiritual beliefs or not—can lead to tangible health benefits. Studies have found that people who engage in regular acts of kindness experience reduced stress, lower blood pressure, and even a longer lifespan. So, while karma itself might not be a measurable force, the behaviors it encourages could lead to better outcomes. #bekind #kindnessiscontagious #kindnessisfree #kindness #karma.
