In my effort to have a self-compassion Sunday, I lit a candle. I sat by the river at sunset and focused on a quote I read by Richard Brendan.
“This, dear friend, is the greatest challenge of being alive: to witness the injustices and deep division in this country, and not allow it to extinguish our light. Keep love alive, in thought and action and don’t stare at the darkness for it will stare back, rather focus on the light. Love is the closest thing we have to magic.”
Science of kindness: Research shows that recognizing the good doesn’t mean ignoring the bad or pretending life is perfect. Instead, it’s about actively choosing to focus on what’s inspiring, and uplifting. This shift in focus can positively boost your mental health, resilience and overall well-being. You are kind to yourself when you choose not to stare into the darkness and focus on the light. #kindnessmatters #kindness #kindnessiscontagious @10kindnessclub
