Day 342 of a year of kindness

I gave blood today. It took 7 minutes for Deb, the nice woman who took my blood, to get what she needed.During that time she told me about “the man with the golden arm.”

James Christopher Harrison earned that title because he saved so many lives with his blood donations. This Australian man donated plasma almost 1200 times to prevent Rh disease in newborns. He is estimated to have saved the lives of over 2.4 million babies in Australia. He died last February and Deb wanted me to know about him.

Blood donations save lives and James Christopher Harrison had the honor of making a profound difference in the world. He inspired people all over the world including Deb. What a tremendous kindness.

Science of Kindness: Research and my own life experience reveals that if you can donate blood you should do it - it does save lives and it’s free. It just requires your time. #BeKind #KindnessCounts #KindnessCounts2025 #kindness #kindnesseffect #donateblood
