Day 362 of a year of kindness

Kindness happened at my local movie theater today.

I went with my cousin Catherine to see Song Sung Blue (accurately described as a toe-tapping weeper). Catherine surprised me with a ticket because she had a gift certificate from the Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce. Her fabulous realtor (and fellow kindness ambassador) CJ Tudino, KEY Real Estate gave her this certificate, along with others, when she moved to the area a few months ago.

These gift certificates are accepted by 200 local businesses and encourage new residents to explore the community. I’ve moved a lot, and I’ve never heard of this kind of program. It’s a kind way to help people feel at home in their new home.

Science of Kindness - Research reveals that kindness interventions — even simple ones — have been shown to create connections across neighborhoods. A program that welcomes new residents with community‑wide gift certificates sparks an upward spiral where one person feels welcomed, they share the kindness, others feel uplifted and the community becomes more connected. #BeKind #KindnessCounts #KindnessCounts2025 #kindness #kindnesseffect #meditate #keyrealestate
