Day 359 of a year of kindness

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. This is perhaps the easiest day to be kind.

My kindness today was the same kindness most people offer on Christmas. I gave and received gifts. I ate an amazing dinner that someone else cooked, so I washed the dishes.

We all do our best to make Christmas special and to bring some joy into the world. It's a shared expectation that we celebrate goodwill. It feels like kindness fuels this holiday.

Christmas is a powerful reminder that kindness matters - not just personally, but culturally. For one day, generosity becomes the norm and people actively look for ways to make others happy.

I wish we could just keep it going!

Science of Kindness: Research reveals that people are more likely to act kindly when kindness is the shared expectation of a group. Christmas creates exactly that environment: a cultural moment where generosity, gift‑giving, and goodwill are assumed. When kindness is the norm, people follow it — and amplify it. #BeKind #KindnessCounts #KindnessCounts2025 #kindness #kindnesseffect #kindnessmatters #christmasgoodwill
