Day 353 of a year of kindness
Brad Aronson, who wrote HumanKind: Changing the World One Small Act At a Time, posted 12 holiday donations that could change lives including $195 to cure blindness, $50 for a birthday party for a child in a homeless shelter, and $25 for a life-transforming literacy program. He asked people to consider contributing to one of the causes, so, I decided to do that for my kindness today.
I chose to give to Miraclefeet.org, a nonprofit I have never heard of before but helps children walk. They help get treatment for children born with clubfoot in low-and middle-income countries through partnerships with local healthcare providers.
Here is the list Brad included in his book and recently posted on social media. He chose the following charities because of their impact and the opportunity to give a small donation for a specific, meaningful purpose.

Science of Kindness: Research reveals giving to charitable causes isn’t just a moral act. It’s a biological, psychological, and societal force that improves lives on both sides of the exchange. Research across neuroscience, psychology, and public health shows that generosity has measurable, transformative effects. #BeKind #KindnessCounts #KindnessCounts2025 #kindness #kindnesseffect #kindnessmatters #donate
