Day 349 of a year of kindness

woke up with a headache, which foreshadowed the day ahead. My flight got cancelled because of some mechanical failure. I drove an hour and a half to the airport and back to stay an unexpected extra night.

I read more terrible news including what Donald Trump had to say about the Reiner tragedy, which should make anyone’s stomach curl and head explode. It’s the exact opposite of kindness. I had enough. I bought some Dr. Teal’s foaming bath and filled the tub with bubbles.

Next, I’m going to watch a movie with a happy ending. I’m taking care of myself. Tomorrow is a new day.

Science of Kindness: Science reveals that taking care of yourself—through rest, nourishment, and emotional “untethering” from stress—is not selfish but a vital form of kindness. Treating yourself with the same care you’d offer a friend strengthens resilience, lowers stress, and makes it easier to extend kindness to others. #BeKind #KindnessCounts #KindnessCounts2025 #kindness #kindnesseffect #selfcompassion #kindnessmatters #useyourpowerforgood
