Day 344 of a year of kindness
I booked a flight to see my 94-year-old Aunt Maha who lives in Savannah, Georgia. Time is precious. I make sure to see her at least once a year - and it’s a kindness for both of us. I had a complicated father but I got his exuberant sister as a bonus.

I am nominating her as kindness ambassador #41 with this text (she texts!) that she sent me today about a kindness she experienced. (She also drives, but does not text and drive.)

“I need to tell you my kindness story. It just happened. I went to the eyeglass store to get my dark glasses screwed in tighter. Well, I use a cane now, so Gwen, who screwed in my eyeglasses walked me to my car. She said IF you ever need me I’ll give you my card you can call me and I’ll come and I’ll help you. You come to the store anytime. Also THIS MIGHT ONLY BE THE SOUTH?? Happened at 10 a.m. at 12/10."

Science of Kindness: Research shows that older adults who receive and give kindness experience better health outcomes, including lower stress and longer life expectancy. Acts of kindness buffer against loneliness, which is a major risk factor for cognitive and physical decline. #BeKind #KindnessCounts #KindnessCounts2025 #kindness #kindnesseffect #loveyoursenior
