Day 233 of a year of Kindness
I helped my mother fill out a form to get a handicapped parking sign for her car. She’s 87, walks with a cane, and it seems like a reasonable request. Her doctor signed off and we filled out the rest.
But instead of sticking the application in a plain white envelope, I decided to write the folks at the DMV a nice note. I thanked them for processing handicapped parking signs for people and making a difference in their lives.
I have had many experiences at the DMV where I encountered very few smiles from employees. I thought they might appreciate a big smiley face thank you card in a sea of white envelopes.
Science of Kindness: Research and well meaning parents always reveal that a proper thank you note can go a long way. It can trigger positive feelings, which can impact office culture. It also shows employees that someone appreciates their efforts and contributions. #bekind #kindness #kindnessmatters #kindnessisfree #thankyounote
