Day 223 of a year of Kindness

I had a day. I was sick and tired of my aching ankle and my awkward knee scooter and the current limitations of my life. I had made an appointment to get a massage because I’m so stiff, sore and bruised from hopping and scootering.

Afterwards, I decided to get an ice cream to make myself feel better. It’s not easy getting in and out of the car with a scooter but I was motivated. I scooted up to the window and ordered coffee ice cream. The cashier took my order, smiled at me and said, “Your ice cream is free.”

It turns out that a local bank, Washington Trust, decided to make a few people happy on a Tuesday afternoon by providing free ice cream. I was so surprised. I can’t describe how big that small kindness felt to me. It felt like the universe was reminding me that I can still find a little luck. While ice cream can solve most problems, free ice cream takes it to a whole other level. Thank you Washington Trust!

Science of Kindness: Research reveals that whenever you are offered free ice cream it will make you smile and brighten your day. #kindnessmatters #kindness #KindnessInAction #icecream #washingtontrust
