Day 222 of a year of Kindness

Kindness Ambassador #22, Karyn Ross, who leads with kindness personally and professionally, found a moment of grace and kindness in the post office.

I went to the satellite post office to mail some kindness buttons to someone who ordered them. When I got there, the clerk was talking to a woman who didn’t seem to be mailing anything! She kept looking at me and talking with the woman. I could see that the woman she was talking to was very agitated.

Finally, while talking, the clerk moved over to the mailing scale and took my package. The other woman then moved on. The clerk apologized to me and said she was sorry that I had to wait so long.

I said that it wasn’t a problem because I could see that the woman was really upset about something and maybe she didn’t have anyone else to talk with. The clerk said she thought that as well. She knew that I wouldn’t mind waiting because she often served me and knew I was kind.

We just never know what someone else is going through. It took a little longer than usual for mailing, but that’s not a problem because someone else needed the "help" more than I did!

Science of Kindness: Research reveals that offering kindness to others in line, in traffic, and in life, makes a profound difference and causes a ripple effect for good. #kindness #kindnessmatters #kindnessisfree #grace #patience
