Day 120 of a year of Kindness

I drove 10 hours from Florida to Savannah, Ga. to see my Aunt Maha for a few days. My 94-year-old aunt drove us to dinner because she thought I had already driven too far. (I drove back). She’s still active, attends her progressive discussion groups, and has a wonderful sense of humor. She rode her bike across Switzerland when she was 76 with a group and then decided to bike across Italy on her own at 77. She’s offered me a soft place to land throughout some of life’s more difficult chapters. After dinner, she told me that the kindness of strangers never ceases to amaze her. She walks with a cane and people open doors, offer an arm, or clear her way. According to Aunt Maha, kindness is everywhere you look.

Science of kindness: Studies reveal that showing respect and staying connected to our elders helps the entire community. When seniors feel valued, their emotional well-being improves, and they have better health outcomes. Younger people also enjoy and benefit tremendously from intergenerational relationships.#kindness #kindnessiscontagious #kindnessisfree #bekind
